The cosmetic use of teeth whitening is becoming more and more popular but it is only through properly licensed whitening agents available from Dentists that you get a safe and effective result.
It is important that you have a dental exam prior to teeth whitening to check for any tooth decay or have had one in the last 6 months.
You will need an appointment to have impressions taken for whitening trays then an appointment 1 week later to have the trays fitted and the bleach issued.
There are 3 different types of bleach available:
- 6% Hydrogen peroxide
- 16% carbamide peroxide
- 10% carbamide peroxide
All of these will be discussed with you. Which one you choose very much depends on how sensitive your teeth are and how white you want them.
We have found through experience that the take home bleaching is the most effective way to bleach your teeth.
